³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ’s political science program provided a strong foundation for my ultimate career and service in maritime law. As a Chesapeake, Virginia native, I was aware of the vibrant maritime industry in Eastern Virginia and wanted to be part of it. Its global reach was fascinating. For years I have represented first and foremost men and women who work on ships as crew, or load and unload ships in our harbors. Little did I know the deep involvement in the maritime industry would lead me to be appointed a member of the Board of Commissioners of Virginia Port Authority, charged with overseeing the world-class Virginia marine terminals that move cargo in and out of the United States as part of the great global supply chain. My ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ education opened the door for that involvement. I will be forever grateful to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ for the opportunity it provided me.
